Darts

Saturday 10th June 2006 saw our first darts competition at Stoke Snooker Club. 9 players took part with £45 to the winner and £20 to the runner up.

In the prelim match Sean Spillett beat Mark Rigby by 3 legs to 0. In the last 8 Lee Phillips beat Dave Norman by 3 legs to 2. Steve Spillett beat Rose Norman by 3 legs to 0, Dan Phillips beat Monika by 3 legs to 0 and Sean Spillett beat Phil Harrison by 3 legs to 0.

In the semi finals Sean Spillett beat Lee Phillips by 4 legs to 1 and Dan Phillips beat Steve Spillett by 4 legs to 1.

The final was a close match with Sean Spillett coming out the winner against Dan Phillips by 4 legs to 2.

Scores to note, 180s were scored by Sean Spillett (1), Dave Norman (1) and Dan Phillips (1).

Finishes to note, Dan Phillips finished on 118 and Sean Spillett finished on the bull from 124.

League Pairs Competition
On Monday 29th May 2006 3 pairs from Stoke Snooker Club entered into the Pairs Competiton at Madelines, unfortunately the night was short lived with nobody progressing to the second round. Mark Rigby and Richard Douglas lost 3 - as did Andy Cooper and Dave Norman. Father and son pairing of Sean and Steve Spillett did do better they managed a leg to lose 3 - 1.

For the winter season 2005 / 2006 Stoke Snooker Club was represented by two teams Stoke A and Stoke B in the Monday night Mens league. During the season Stoke B moved their home venue from us to Olivers Public House also in Stoke Road and then to The Fox in the town centre. They are to be congratulated as they won the Division.

Stoke A, captained by Paul Gray, finished third in the same Division behind The Queens Head. The team are looking forward to the new winter season and aim to improve on this years achievement. Both Rose and Dave congratulate all team members for this achievement.

For the summer season 2006 we have a team entered into the mens Monday night league and we are currently waiting for the fixtures to be announced
